SUBJECT: Eagle Residential Owner’s Policy – Improved Property & Natural Persons Only
The purpose of this Bulletin is to remind you that you may not issue the Eagle Residential Owner’s Policy on unimproved land. It is for use on improved residential property only. Nor may you issued it on vacant land with a pending improvements endorsement. There are several reasons for this, but the policy contains coverages that are only applicable to improved property. We are experiencing claims because of its issuance on vacant land which would not have been sustained were a long form owner’s policy issued. In addition, the owner would be paying a higher premium for coverage that is not applicable to their property. Also, please remember this policy is to insure natural persons only, not corporations, L.L.C.’s, partnerships, etc.
